Mark Pace ( Aptitude's Certificate in Dance  C.A.E. (French Fédération of Dance), State's Diploma for Dance Teacher D.E. )

mark 3.jpg Mark was born in Yallourn, Latrobe Valley and grew up in Moe. Mark started his ballet training with Julie Ryan Dancers from the age of nine and later studied with Gaielene Stock and Gary Norman until his acceptance at " The Australian Ballet School". After only one year he was accepted into the "The Australian Ballet Company" under the direction of Maina Gielgud. He spent five years with the "Australian Ballet" where he attained the rank of soloist , he danced in all the majors classical ballet works, "Sleeping Beauty, Swan Lake, Giselle" as well as works by Greame Murphy, Jri Kylian, Maurice Béjart, John Cranko. He toured to London, Greece, Russia, Japan and China.

While with the "Australian Ballet" he attained a scholarship to study at the "Paris Opera Ballet School" under Serge Golivine. In 1989 he moved to Europe where he joined the "Ballet Béjart Lausanne" in Switzerland under Maurice Béjart, yearning to return to a classical ballet repertoire company he joined the "Bavarian State Ballet" in Munich, where as soloist he danced all the major classical ballet repertoire plus choreographers such as Jiri Kylian, George Balanchine, Frederik Ashton. After he joined The "Ballet of the Opera of the Rhin" in Strasbourg, France where he danced many contemporary works as well as the classical repertoire and later became assistant to the director.

As a ballet teacher Mark has attained his "State Diploma in Dance" in France as well as his "Aptitude Certificate in dance" which is the highest diploma a dance teacher can attain in France. He has been invited to teach the  " Ballet de l'Opéra National du Rhin", "Shanghai Ballet", "Australian Conservatory of Dance" under the direction of Christine Walsh and the  "National Theatre School of Ballet" under the direction of Beverly Fry, as well as numerous other schools in France. He has assisted choreographers in Berlin Ballet, Chemnitz Ballet, Paris Opera Ballet and the Shanghai Ballet Company. For the last three years he has been the co-ordinator of the dance department of the "Centre of Roudolf Nourrev" in Sainte Geneviève des Bois outside of Paris. Next August Mark will be assisting Bertrand d'At for a creation with the Vietnam Ballet Hanoi.
